In-Person Workshop: Power Yoga for Recovery
A yogic approach that is mindful of the unique needs of students in recovery while still offering a physical challenge can be hugely beneficial. In this workshop, learn how to find a balance between physical challenge and inner growth and encourage the same for your students.

About the Event
For many people living in recovery from addiction, trauma, or grief, a gentle approach is taken to allow for a sense of safety and to allow the nervous system to down-regulate and heal. Sometimes, however, a yogic approach that is mindful of the unique needs of students in recovery while still offering a physical challenge can be hugely beneficial. Join yoga therapist Angela Van Wagoner as she helps us to find the balance between physical challenge and inner growth, a combination that can support healing and lead us to greater self understanding. The first part of this in-studio workshop will be open to all students to learn and experience practice together. The final hour will be exclusively for yoga teachers to learn about incorporating what was learned into their classes. For teachers without Power Yoga training, you can register for this workshop and our 20-hour Power Yoga immersion course in November 2022 to receive a comprehensive education in this style of yoga and the students who can benefit most from it. This course can be counted as an elective in our 300-hour program, or used for 3 CEU's with Yoga Alliance.
